昨日、朝4:20起床。M-1を観るためである。目覚ましをかけ忘れたのに起きた。現在日本との時差は14時間。TVerの生配信でM-1グランプリを観た。大阪に生まれてこれを観ないという選択肢はない。敗者復活戦はさすがに生で観るのは諦めた。
優勝は令和ロマンでもヤーレンズでもどっちでも納得できるレベルだった。さや香は本当にやりたいネタと実際にウケるネタの乖離があるのかもしれない。伝説の「からあげ」ネタのようなやけくそ感が垣間見えた気がした。
ヤーレンズのボケが妙にツボった。出井という珍しい苗字に対して「滅ぼしちゃおっかな」とか、普通にラーメンを食べているだけなのに「食い逃げだ！」とかアホくさくて良い。ツッコミが適度に受け流したり乗っかったりするのが心地よかった。ベンジャミンバトンの伏線が上手かったが、上手くやりすぎてないのも良かった。
令和ロマンは掴みだけで期待させてくれる。「顔でもんじゃ作ってる」とか笑った。海原ともこの「めちゃくちゃ動く」の寸評が好き。ボケのくるまは映画か演劇サークルの面倒臭い文系大学生感がある。そこから繰り出されるダイナミックなボケ、それに対してツッコミは落ち着いていて、喧嘩腰ではない。トヨタに対して「まだライバルじゃないよ」とか。
なぜこんな感想(本当はあと10倍くらい言いたい)を垂れ流しているかというと、周りで誰もM-1を観ていないからである。
Yesterday, I woke up at 4:20 in the morning to watch M-1 Grand Prix. Despite forgetting to set an alarm, I managed to wake up. The time difference with Japan is currently 14 hours. I watched M-1 Grand Prix live on TVer. Being born in Osaka, not watching this was not an option. I gave up on watching the second-chance round live, though.
The victory could have gone to either Reiwa Roman or Yarens; both were at an agreeable level. Sayaka seemed to have a disconnect between the type of comedy they truly want to do and what actually gets laughs. I felt a glimpse of that desperate feeling, similar to the legendary "fried chicken" skit.
The Yarens' boke (funnyman) hit the right notes for me. For example, their humorous take on the unusual surname "Dei" – "Should I annihilate it?" Or the straightforward act of eating ramen prompts the exclamation, "Dine and dash!" – it's delightfully absurd. The tsukkomi's (straight man) ability to smoothly deflect or play along was satisfying. The clever use of Benjamin Button as a running gag was well-done but not overly forced.
Reiwa Roman is captivating from the get-go. Lines like "Making Monja with my face" had me laughing. I appreciate the commentary on "super dynamic" by Unabara Tomoko. The boke, Kuruma, gives off a vibe of a somewhat bothersome humanities major involved in a film or theater circle. From him, dynamic boke is delivered, and the tsukkomi’s responses remain composed, avoiding a confrontational tone. Lines like "They're not rivals yet" directed at Toyota add to the charm.
Why am I sharing such impressions (truthfully, I want to say ten times more)? Because no one around me is watching M-1.
